What we look at

Seven areas, one conversation.

We cover whichever of these apply to your business, and spend the time where the risks are.

Microsoft 365

Licences, sign-in security, sharing settings, and who holds admin rights.

Security

Multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, email filtering, and how you would know if something went wrong.

Backup and recovery

What is backed up, where, how often, and when a restore was last tested.

Devices

Laptops and desktops: updates, encryption, and what happens when someone leaves.

Network

The firewall, Wi-Fi, remote access, and how the office network fits together.

Email and domain

Who controls the domain, where mail is hosted, and whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC are in place.

Phones

Your current phone system and contracts, and whether cloud VoIP would suit you.

How it works

Four steps, no pressure.

  1. 01

    Book a time

Use the form below or call us. We reply within one business day to arrange a time that suits you.

  2. 02

    Talk it through

A 45-minute conversation about how your business runs its technology. Nothing technical to prepare, though a recent IT or Microsoft invoice helps.

  3. 03

    Hear what we recommend

Before the call ends, what is working, the risks worth fixing first, and what we would recommend, in plain English and in priority order.

  4. 04

    Decide, with no pressure

Act on it with us, with another provider or on your own. If you want our help, we send a quote afterwards.

What you get

  • A plain-English picture of how your IT is set up today
  • The risks worth fixing first, in priority order
  • What we would recommend, and why
  • A quote afterwards, only if you want to go ahead

Who it is for

  • Businesses in Calgary and the surrounding towns without an IT person of their own
  • Anyone unsure whether their current IT provider has things covered
  • Businesses that have grown faster than their setup
  • Anyone who has just had a scare, such as a phishing email that got through or a lost laptop

Questions

Before you book.

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. There is no cost and no obligation. It is the quickest way for both of us to see whether we are a good fit, and the recommendations are useful to you whatever you decide.

Do you need passwords or access to our systems?

No. The assessment is a conversation, and we do not ask for passwords. You decide what to share.

We already have an IT provider. Can we still book one?

Yes. You do not need to tell your current provider, and nothing we discuss commits you to changing.

What do we need to prepare?

Nothing technical. It helps to know roughly how many staff and devices you have, and to have a recent Microsoft 365 or IT invoice to hand.

What happens after the assessment?

If you would like help with any of it, we send a quote showing how we would do it and what it would cost. If not, there is nothing more to do.
